As part of a proposed Jurassic World trilogy, the movie was planned as early as 2014. In February 2020, filming got underway in Canada and then relocated to several sites in England the following month. Production was halted in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic as a safety measure. Filming took place in Malta and at Pinewood Studios in England, and the production was completed in November 2020, four months after it had started. Universal Pictures has set June 10, 2022, for the theatrical release of Jurassic World: Dominion.
