The movie Raiders of the Lost Ark launched the franchise in 1981. On June 30, 2023, the fifth and final movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, was released in theatres. George Lucas is the creator of the series. James Mangold directed the fifth movie, while Steven Spielberg, who collaborated closely with Lucas on the first four, directed the first five. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, a television series that delves into the character in 1992, was the franchise’s first television venture.
