Due to the character’s widespread appeal, he has appeared in a wide range of various media. He describes his own damaged appearance as “Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar-Pei” in the 2004 television series Cable & Deadpool (although Reynolds’ name is spelt incorrectly as “Renolds” in the comic). In the end, Reynolds would play the role in the X-Men movie franchise. He made appearances in Deadpool (2016), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), and Deadpool 2 (2018). Reynolds credits Cable & Deadpool #2 for introducing him to the character and serving as his inspiration for the film adaption. It is announced that he will go on portraying the character in the MCU.
